The Galeria de Arte Rui Alberto returns to the center of the town of Oporto, in an area of cultural and touristic interest and near monuments, like the Soares dos Reis Museum, the Biblioteca Almeida Garret, a Campus- the Faculdade Abel Salazar - and in the middle of the art district, the so called Galerias de Miguel Bombarda. With such a change, the company returns to its origins of a commercial space inserted in a shopping area and, at the same time, sets itself in the circuit of the galleries in the art quartier of the town. The new location also allows a closer presence near the growing number of tourists who visit Oporto, offering them a range of artistic products always exhibited at the gallery.
The distinctive project from the architect Souto de Moura distinguishes the Gallery from a mere commercial space, and this, we believe, will set itself as a mark in the architectural scene of the town.
The concept to be developed at the Gallery touches multiple art forms and the interior architecture functions as scenery which, from exhibition to exhibition, changes itself, as it can be transformed/adapted according to the vision of each invited artist and the type of his art.
To the Gallery, the challenge consists in establishing itself as a promotor of artistic and cultural events capable of creating a continuous harmony in between all art forms there displayed. At the same time, the Gallery aims to create a feeling of identification of the client and the products exhibited in a familiar environment in which the customers feel completely integrated as if they had imagined and developed it.
This month the exhibition in place refers to various artists and various techniques.
